Michel Medinger copyright Christian Mosar

Michel Medinger A brilliant athlete, he competed in the 1963 Olympic Games. One year later, at the age of 24, he began photographing sporting events. His first exhibition in 1981 showed him still producing documentary colour photographs: disused petrol pumps and builders’ yards. Since 1986, he has preferred black and white photography and he groups together old tools, wilted flowers, small animal remains and broken dolls inside wooden boxes or in front of arranged backdrops. Working almost exclusively with Polaroid material, he is nonetheless fascinated by alternative photographic processing.
